A Time for Gratitude

My name is Marie. I am a physical therapist, mom, wife, runner, and gardener. I want to reach out and help others find healthy and fit lives.

As a physical therapist, I help people every day get back to life from injuries and illnesses. It is my passion to teach you about your body. My twenty-plus years of expertise are in orthopedics and pelvic health.

2020 has been a trying year for us all, but we made it to 2021. This past year I have faced loss, unemployment, a change in job and a change in the focus of my physical therapy practice. These changes have been so hard and I know I am not alone. Through all of this past year, I found I was loosing myself and my drive to achieve my goals. My fitness routine changed (It Plummeted!) and so did my self esteem. I felt unworthy of achieving my goals.

With the dawn of 2021 I realized I needed to focus on my mindset, get out of my rut, move and help others. The importance of having a healthy mindset goes hand in hand with feeling good. If you move, you feel good and when you feel good you move more. The two support each other. So I am here to support you in your goals as I move further with mine. My 2021 goal ( I don’t like the word resolution) is ACCOUNTABILITY!! I am holding myself accountable for my desire to reach out and help as many people as I can through education, information and connection.

“Gratitude is a powerful catalyst for happiness.

It’s the spark that lights a fire of joy in your soul.” -Amy Collette

If this past year has taught me anything it has been gratitude. I have so many things to be thankful for. It is so easy to loose site of that when you are feeling down and overwhelmed with what life has thrown your way.

I have made it a practice of finding one thing I’m grateful for every day. It could be something small like my coffee tastes fabulous in the morning or it can be something massive like my health or the health of my family. It doesn’t matter how big or small it is. I challenge you to find something you are grateful for everyday. Write it down. Say it out loud or repeat it in your mind. Being grateful is the first step in a healthy mind and body.

Have a wonderful day my friends. And remember every day is almost Friday..
